TEAS Exam Overview
The TEAS (Test of Essential Academic Skills) is a standardized exam developed by ATI (Assessment Technologies Institute) to assess a student’s preparedness for entering the health science fields. The exam is often used as an admission requirement for nursing and allied health programs.
TEAS Exam Format
The TEAS exam consists of 170 multiple-choice questions, divided into four sections:
- Reading (53 questions, 64 minutes)
- Math (36 questions, 54 minutes)
- Science (53 questions, 63 minutes)
- English and Language Usage (28 questions, 28 minutes)
The total time allotted for the exam is 209 minutes (3 hours and 29 minutes).
TEAS Registration Process
To register for the TEAS exam:
- Create an ATI account or log in to your existing account
- Register for the TEAS at an approved testing location
- Choose your preferred exam date and time
- Pay the exam fee (varies by location)

Receiving TEAS Scores
TEAS scores are available immediately after completing the exam. The scores are sent to the schools or programs designated by the test-taker during registration. Test-takers can also access their scores through their ATI account.
