AutoCAD Certification Exams
There are two AutoCAD certification exams available:
- AutoCAD Certified User: This exam is for entry-level users who want to demonstrate a basic understanding of AutoCAD.
- AutoCAD Certified Professional: This exam is for professional users who want to demonstrate advanced skills and knowledge of AutoCAD.

Exam Preparation
To prepare for the AutoCAD certification exams, Autodesk recommends:
- Having practical working experience with AutoCAD
- Reviewing the exam objectives and practicing your skills
- Taking a course at an Authorized Training Center (ATC) or self-studying with Autodesk Learning Partner content
Exam Registration and Delivery
AutoCAD certification exams are delivered at Certiport Authorized Testing Centers worldwide. To register for an exam:
- Find a testing center near you
- Contact the testing center to schedule your exam
- Pay the exam fee directly to the testing center
On exam day, you must bring a valid photo ID and follow the testing center’s policies and procedures.
Recertification
AutoCAD certifications are valid for three years. To maintain your certification status, you must recertify by either:
- Passing a recertification exam within three years of your original certification date
- Earning a higher-level certification (e.g., upgrading from AutoCAD Certified User to AutoCAD Certified Professional)
