Overview of AMIE Exam
The AMIE (Associate Member of Institution of Engineers) Exam is conducted by The Institution of Engineers (India). Key points about the exam include:
- Passing the AMIE exam qualifies one to become an Associate Member of IEI
- AMIE is treated as equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in engineering
- The exam is conducted in two sections (A & B) held in June and December each year
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the AMIE exam, a candidate must fulfill one of the following criteria:
- Passed 10+2 or equivalent with a minimum 45% aggregate and passed Diploma in Engineering with 45% marks
- Passed 10+2 or equivalent with a minimum 45% aggregate and have at least 2 years work experience in engineering
- Passed Section A of AMIE
Exam Pattern

Each subject carries 100 marks, for a total of 900 marks for Section A and 900 marks for Section B.
