AFCAT Exam Overview
The AFCAT (Air Force Common Admission Test) is conducted by the Indian Air Force for recruitment of the following:
- Flying Branch
- Ground Duty (Technical)
- Ground Duty (Non-Technical)

Eligibility Criteria
Age Limit
- Flying Branch: 20 to 24 years as on 01 Jan 2024
- Ground Duty (Technical) Branch: 20 to 26 years as on 01 Jan 2024
- Ground Duty (Non-Technical) Branch: 20 to 26 years as on 01 Jan 2024
Educational Qualification
- Flying Branch: Graduation with minimum three year degree course in any discipline from a recognized University with minimum 60% marks or equivalent
- Ground Duty (Technical) Branch: B.E / B.Tech degree (Four year course) in the relevant field of Engineering from a recognized University with minimum 60% marks or equivalent
- Ground Duty (Non-Technical) Branch: Graduation with minimum three year degree course in any discipline from a recognized University with minimum 60% marks or equivalent
Selection Process
The AFCAT selection process consists of the following stages:
- AFCAT Written Examination
- Air Force Selection Board (AFSB) Interview
- Medical Test
Candidates who clear the AFCAT written exam will be called for AFSB interview followed by a medical test. Final merit list will be prepared based on the performance in the written exam and AFSB interview, subject to qualifying the medical test.
